This is a private group retreat, created exclusively for our retreat group. The group will have dedicated transportation, an Egyptologist guide and retreat facilitation throughout the journey.

Archaeological sites and museums are visited during their regular public opening
arrangements; this retreat does not include private or after-hours access to monuments.

Day 1 - 30 July

ARRIVAL IN GIZA — OPENING THE JOURNEY

Overnight: Giza
Welcome to Egypt.
Upon arrival, our Meka Egypt team will welcome the group and transfer everyone to the accommodation in Giza.
After settling in and resting.

Day 2 - 31 July

GIZA, SAQQARA & DAHSHUR — THE ANCIENT SACRED LANDSCAPE

Overnight: Giza
After breakfast, begin our journey through some of Egypt's most important ancient landscapes.

SAQQARA
Explore the ancient necropolis of Saqqara and the Step Pyramid of Djoser.
With your Egyptologist guide, discover the development of Egyptian pyramid architecture and the spiritual beliefs surrounding death, rebirth and the eternal journey.

DAHSHUR
Continue to Dahshur to see the Bent Pyramid and Red Pyramid.
Dahshur provides a quieter landscape for connecting with the ancient pyramid tradition away from the busiest areas of Cairo. Enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch.

Evening Meditation
Return to Giza. As the sun sets, gather for:

Evening free time to relax before leaving Cairo for the desert.

Day 3 - 1 August

GIZA PYRAMIDS → BAHARIYA → BLACK DESERT

Overnight: Black/White Desert Camp
Early morning departure from Giza toward Bahariya Oasis and Egypt's Western Desert. After arriving at Bahariya, enjoy lunch and meet the desert team before beginning the 4×4 journey.

ENTERING THE BLACK DESERT
Our desert adventure begins with the dramatic landscape of the Black Desert. Explore:

Panoramic viewpoints
Ancient geological landscapes

Continue toward Crystal Mountain.

CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN
Walk and explore this extraordinary natural formation. Time for:

Continue through the desert toward the White Desert area.

SUNSET CEREMONY
As the sun begins to disappear, gather together for a special desert meditation.

After breakfast, continue exploring the White Desert.

WHITE DESERT
Discover the surreal limestone formations created by millions of years of natural geological processes. Walk among the formations and experience the extraordinary silence of the desert.

SOLAR ECLIPSE EXPERIENCE
The group will gather for the 2027 Solar Eclipse experience, with the exact viewing location and timing organized according to the final eclipse logistics and confirmed local arrangements.
The experience will include:

Meditation among the White Desert formations. Breakfast in the desert. Then begin the return journey through the Western Desert. Depending on the final route and conditions, experience more of:

Bahariya Oasis

FINAL BLACK DESERT EXPERIENCE
Before leaving the desert, stop for a final meditation among the Black Desert mountains.
A quiet closing ceremony:

What are we bringing home?
Continue back toward Cairo/Giza.
Arrive in Giza and check into the accommodation.
Evening at leisure.

Day 6 - 4 August

GRAND EGYPTIAN MUSEUM & GIZA PYRAMIDS

Overnight: Giza
After breakfast, continue the Egyptian journey with the treasures of ancient Egypt.

GRAND EGYPTIAN MUSEUM
Explore the Grand Egyptian Museum and its galleries, discovering the civilization that created the pyramids and developed one of the world's most enduring spiritual traditions. The official Egypt tourism site describes the museum's Tutankhamun galleries and more than 6,000 artifacts within the collection.

GIZA PYRAMIDS
Continue to the Giza Plateau.

COPTIC CAIRO • CITADEL • CLOSING CEREMONY

Departure
After breakfast, explore another layer of Egypt — its living spiritual and cultural heritage.

COPTIC CAIRO
Visit the historic Christian quarter of Cairo and experience the ancient churches and sacred atmosphere of Old Cairo.

CITADEL OF SALADIN
Continue to the Citadel of Saladin and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, overlooking historic Cairo.

KHAN EL KHALILI
Time to walk through the historic market area, browse Egyptian crafts and souvenirs, and enjoy the atmosphere of old Cairo.
Meka's Cairo programme includes Coptic Cairo, the Citadel, Islamic Cairo, Khan El Khalili, Giza, GEM, Saqqara and Dahshur as key Greater Cairo experiences.

FINAL CLOSING CIRCLE
Return to Giza for the final retreat gathering.

The retreat includes 6 nights of accommodation: Giza/Cairo: Comfortable accommodation with access to the Meka Egypt team and retreat activities. Western Desert: Authentic desert camping experience with dinner, fire, music, meditation and sleeping beneath the stars.
